Mapping Solutions

RSA produce a number of mapping products that are either built-in to MAST, form a part of bespoke reports such as Area Profiles, or support national projects for private sector clients. Identifying risk on the road network can be useful to local authorities, telematics providers, highways management teams and building developers. Over recent years, RSA have provided route analysis for a number of highway authorities and have also provided risk data to clients in the telematics industry.

Collision Density Analysis

RSA have undertaken an analysis of every stretch of road in Britain to identify risk on the national road network. This density analysis produces a set of index values, comparing the rate to that of similar roads nationally or within a local authority district. RSA can also undertake bespoke analysis of the road network to focus on collisions involving certain road user groups such as cyclists, pedestrians or child casualties or collisions involving a particular contributory factor such as fatigue or speed. In addition to this there is also flexibility over the class of roads included, i.e. only the strategic road network; just major roads (M, A & B) or only unclassified roads within a small area

Sample maps are included in the MAST Portal and you can contact us if you would like more information.
HE_PIC

Network Risk

Where traffic counts are available for roads we produce our network risk analysis that produces results per billion vehicle miles. Plotted using the Ordnance Survey network together with the most recent six years of collision data these maps are available for use on local GIS systems, the MAST Portal or they can even be embedded on public websites.

If you have specific requirements or enhanced local datasets then please contact us

Mapping of resident risk by area are a part of our report solutions Area Profiles and Insight Studies. The outputs from these reports can also be turned into offline and hosted maps.
We are able to provide analysis of collisions rates using traffic count data where this exists at a local level. This requires a data exchange and matching process so please contact one of the team to discuss your requirements.

We can also work with your own networks or even assist in simplifying the links into longer routes if this is desired.

National maps to suit individual requirements or interests e.g. Cyclists, can also be produced. These do not automatically include an online hosting option due to the potential size of the database.
